In civil engineering, asphalt is a widely used waterproof and anti-corrosion material, mainly used for waterproofing of roofs, ground and underground structures, and anti-corrosion of wood and steel. Asphalt is also a widely used pavement structure cementing material in road engineering. It can be used in proportion with mineral materials of different compositions to build asphalt pavements of different structures, and is widely used in highways.
