Bitumen Emulsifiers require controlled environmental conditions to maintain stable performance. Improper storage can lead to a decrease in emulsification effectiveness, thereby impacting their performance.
Temperature is a critical factor during storage. Most Bitumen Emulsifiers need to be stored within a temperature range of 5 - 30°C. Excessively high temperatures can cause the volatilization or even deterioration of the emulsifier's components. Excessively low temperatures can lead to stratification or solidification, especially for cationic emulsifiers, which are particularly sensitive to low temperatures and prone to crystallization.
Use corrosion - resistant plastic or iron drums for storage, and keep the lids tightly closed to prevent moisture and impurities from entering. Use opened emulsifiers promptly. Any unused emulsifiers should be sealed immediately to prevent prolonged exposure to air and oxidation. The storage area should be kept away from sources of ignition and strong oxidants, maintained in a well - ventilated and dry environment, and protected from direct sunlight.
When stacking Bitumen Emulsifiers, avoid stacking them too high to prevent deformation of the containers at the bottom. Additionally, it is recommended to regularly inspect stored asphalt emulsifiers for any precipitation, unusual odors, or color changes. If you notice these conditions, it means that the emulsifier may have deteriorated and cannot be used. Taking care of these storage details can effectively extend the shelf life of the emulsifier and ensure its effectiveness when used.
