Several details need to be considered when using Bitumen Emulsifiers to ensure satisfactory emulsification and avoid affecting construction quality.
First, the addition ratio must be controlled. The dosage must be strictly determined according to the asphalt type and construction requirements. Too low a ratio will lead to insufficient asphalt emulsification and separation; too high a ratio will increase costs and may also affect the stability of the emulsified asphalt. Before use, the compatibility between the emulsifier and asphalt must be confirmed. Different types of emulsifiers are for different types of asphalt; mixing them may lead to emulsification failure.
Second, the ambient temperature during construction must be considered. It is generally recommended to use it between 5℃ and 35℃. Too low a temperature will slow down the emulsification reaction, while too high a temperature may cause premature demulsification of the emulsified asphalt. During mixing, it is necessary to maintain uniformity and control the mixing speed to avoid uneven mixing affecting the emulsification effect or excessive air bubbles due to excessive speed.
Furthermore, once opened, the Bitumen Emulsifier should be used as soon as possible. Unused portions should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry place, avoiding exposure to sunlight or freezing temperatures to prevent performance degradation.
